My Philosophy.

At Zesty Midlife, I wholeheartedly embrace Hauora, the Māori concept of holistic well-being that nurtures physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. As a descendant of Whiria Pomare II, a revered chief of Ngāti Mānu, I take immense pride in my Māori heritage.

I believe Hauora is more than just health; it's about living in harmony with ourselves and our surroundings. By embracing balanced nutrition, regular movement, and mindful practices, we honour our ancestors and keep our vitality strong.  This strong connection to our roots energises us, enabling us to lead active and fulfilling lives. Embracing Hauora celebrates our heritage.

I use Hauora as a framework for all my work at Zesty Midlife. I help women connect with their inner selves, ignite their zest, and lead vibrant, fulfilling lives.

Physical Health
Taha Tirana

Maintaining physical health through regular movement, a balanced diet, and sufficient rest is crucial during perimenopause and menopause. This includes addressing specific health concerns like bone density, and cardiovascular health, and managing symptoms such as hot flashes and sleep disturbances.

Mental Wellbeing
Taha Hinengaro

Nurturing a positive mindset and managing stress effectively becomes particularly important during this transitional phase. This involves practising mindfulness, seeking professional support when needed, and using techniques to cope with mood swings and anxiety that may accompany hormonal changes.

Social Connections
Taha Wahānu

Strengthening and maintaining relationships with family, friends, and support groups can provide vital emotional support during perimenopause and menopause. It's about sharing experiences, seeking advice, and feeling understood and connected during this significant life stage.

Purpose & Meaning
Taha Wairua

Finding activities that offer a sense of fulfilment and direction is key during perimenopause and menopause. This could mean redefining personal and professional goals, pursuing new interests and passions, and engaging in community or volunteer work that brings joy and a sense of contribution.
